Established in 2008, the Hudson Valley Honor Band Program provides an exceptional opportunity for outstanding band students in grades 6-12 from Hudson Valley schools to make music together. Rehearsals take place in the fall of each school year and culminate in a final concert performance. Students rehearse and perform a wide variety of music, from contemporary works to classics of the band repertoire. The final weekend of performances includes a special performance by the New York Wind Symphony. The Hudson Valley Honor Band Program is sponsored by the Syracuse University Bands. Membership in the Honors Youth Band Program is by invitation and/or band director recommendation, with the registration and seating audition process taking place during the spring and summer months.
